Family Link Education Program (FLEP)

【家连家精神健康教育课程】

The Family Link Education Programme or FLEP is a modular course for family members, caregivers and the general public.

The modules include topics on Understanding Mental Illness, Who Can Understand Me?, Medication for Mental Illness, Handling Crisis, Be Nice To Yourself & Rebuild Your Life, and Recovery. The FLEP is taught by doctors, psychiatrists and trained facilitators.

FLEP is conducted 4 times a year, usually on consecutive Saturdays from 10.00am to 1.00pm. Certificates are given to participants who complete all modular course.

「家连家」,意指各个不幸的精神障礙家庭之间有所联結,相信家属、社会大众经由不断的学习,並与其他精神障碍家庭相互交流、分享,扩大正面的影响力,協助每个家庭早日走出精神疾病的阴霾,進而展现自助助人的力量。藉由「家连家」深入淺出、淺显易懂的课程,让家属们认识严重精神病、了解如何與生病的家人相处、认识精神科用药、当危机来临时如何因应、教导家属学习如何善待自己、了解现階段精神医疗资源,进而创造和谐社会、为精神障碍者谋求平等和权益。

课程内容包括,认识精神病、谁能明白我、认识精神科药物、危机处理、善待自己重整生活、康复的疑惑与希望。课程皆由专业医生、精神科医生和受过训练的自愿者授课。
